the parking lot was odd. if you enter and it’s full, it’s really difficult to get out because there’s no space for a 3 point turn. now on to the food! we came here for dinner and had an excellent time. the chef was great and the dishes were really well thought out with great combinations. my favourites excluding the sushi were the seaweed salad, steamed abalone dish and wagyu w foie gras. while the quality was amazing, i thought the add-on for uni was a bit odd. shouldn’t it be included in the meal as it’s an omakase? just felt like it commercialised the essence of an omakase and that any special seafood would usually be included in the course for the day (if available). was tempted to knock one star off due to this, but will just add it as a note here. missed out a couple but our dishes in order: - chawanmushi - seaweed salad w cuttlefish and tomato dressing - duck with smoked pear - steamed abalone w abalone sauce - prawn stuffed zucchini tempura w green tea salt and lime (not pictured) - shiitake mushroom broth (not pictured) - - alfonsino aka golden eye snapper - kingfish - - king george whiting - swordfish - amaebi - tuna - otoro handroll - tuna belly - anago - uni - a5 kumano wagyu w foie gras snow - scampi miso soup - futomaki

I came here for a birthday lunch omakase, and it was absolutely amazing! The energy and atmosphere were fantastic — warm, lively, and welcoming. The chef was not only talented but also so funny and full of great vibes; he really made the whole experience fun and memorable. The manager deserves special mention — she’s the definition of outstanding customer service: attentive, kind, and genuinely caring. And of course, the food was perfection. Every dish was delicious, but the abalone rice and uni truly stood out — just incredible. Great SAKE! I loved every moment: great food, great vibe, and wonderful people. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate my day with my best friend.

Aoi Tsuki went beyond our expectations! The flavours, the seasoning, the friendly interaction with the chefs, the ambiance - every aspect of the experience was amazing. We are always on the lookout for great omakase in Melbourne, and we’ve found a place we will be returning to.

Nothing short of exceptional. From being welcomed warmly in, to the dance like service, to the charm of the chefs...all underpinned by exceptional food. A must visit. We came for our anniversary and really felt special. Made a point of knowing our names which just added a personal touch. The classic sake pairing is so worth it - the knowledge of the staff in regards to the sake, their origins and how they pair was just fabulous. And then the food. Near 20 dishes were had, each showcasing simplicity and mastery. Aoi Tsuki blends your usual omakase fair with dishes that appear to be French inspired. I was not expecting a smoked duck breast on the menu, but it was divine. Similarly, the abalone comes with a sauce rendered from its liver. These, coupled with expertly prepared sushi courses, are so welcome, displaying an ethos on fine craftmanship. A true testament to the honing of craft to deliver perhaps a "blended" style, while speaking true to Japanese roots. You will not leave disappointed or hungry. This is definitely on a must return list.

🌟4.5 To be honest, I felt the course had a bit too much nigiri. It might be worth considering adding 1-3 more sashimi instead. While nigiri does help fill you up with rice, some customers might feel it’s not as valuable. I wasn’t a fan of the clam broth or miso soup—both felt boring, nothing special. The duck breast was well-prepared, yet the tofu paste accompaniment felt out of place. The pickled ginger leaned slightly on the sweet side for me, but that’s just a personal preference. Chawanmushi, tuna belly, and sea urchin stood out—especially the melt-in-your-mouth tuna belly. The other dishes pictured below were delightful as well ☺️ All the ingredients throughout the meal were fresh and of top quality 💯 Nama chocolate was pleasant, though I preferred the sorbet from my previous visit. Service was impeccable—both the chef and staff were attentive and engaging. The chef even remembered me despite the long gap since my last visit. Would come back again :)
