Such a great find in the city! Izakaya Domo is tucked away in a cute little laneway, which makes the whole experience feel extra special and cozy. We went as a family and had a really lovely time. The servers were all friendly, polite, and welcoming, which made us feel comfortable right away. The food was absolutely amazing, especially for the price, really good value for the quality. The grilled salmon nigiri was a standout and my kids loved it (which says a lot!). The karaage chicken was my personal favourite, crispy, juicy, and full of flavour. We also tried one of the $6 drinks and were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Great atmosphere, great service, and delicious food at reasonable prices. Weโll definitely be back!
LOVED this place and Iโm so glad we found it before leaving Melbourne Itโs tucked away in an alley next to H&M The vibes are really cool and the food is fantastic!! We didnโt have reservations but we were seated right away. While we were eating the line got longer to be seated so itโs best to make reservations online
First time dining here and Iโm genuinely blown away. Iโm honestly surprised it took me this long to discover such an amazing restaurant. The vibes are absolutely unreal. From the moment you step into the laneway seating, you can tell how much thought has gone into the dรฉcor; itโs stylish, atmospheric, and incredibly well executed. Concepts like this can easily be a hit or miss, and when they miss, it really shows. But Izakaya Domo has absolutely nailed it. The food is next level. Their ramen is rich, comforting, and packed with flavour, while the Wagyu is simply to die for, exceptional quality and perfectly cooked. A standout moment was when they flamed the Wagyu right at the table ๐ฅ. Iโve always had a soft spot for a bit of theatrical flair, and this was such a fun and memorable touch. And the fried chicken? Juicy on the inside, perfectly crispy on the outside, and hits the spot in every way possible. Itโs one of those dishes you keep thinking about long after the meal is over. The staff deserve a special mention tooโฆ friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Service truly delivered with a smile ๐, which made the whole experience even better. Safe to say, I may have just found my new favourite ramen joint. P.S. A big thank you for the complimentary cheesecake (I believe it was a Christmas special) such a lovely and unexpected way to end the meal.
Such a lovely little place that felt like I was in Japan once again! Both food and service was amazing! We had the wagyu ramen and it was perfectly cooked. We also had the octopus karage, not too oily and delicious. Will definitely be back to try the other foods
Hidden within the alley between GPO and Myer, this small izakaya restaurant has the Golden Gai vibe with the decor and minimal seating. The food itself is not bad. The fried stuff like Karaage and Katsu have great batter and texture. The curry sauce is decent but indifferent from other shops. Portion-wise is on the smaller side for the price. The service is excellent, and the food comes out fairly quickly. Food - 7 Service - 7 Vibe - 7 Price - $$
