been here twice, quality of the sushi is so good! highly recommend the sashimi set and the nigiris

I came as a group and we chose to have the Horoyoi set meal which was perfect. From the minute we walked in, the staff were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxed. Highlights of the set meal were the cauliflower namban and the chicken tsukune skewers. There was plenty of food and we all left full, without having ridiculous amounts left over. I will definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu.

We’ve ordered the special dish of the day and it’s exceptionally good. The freshness, taste, texture,…everything is amazing! I didn’t take a picture because I honestly didn’t expect it to be that good. The eggplant salad is also pretty tasty. I like how they balance the flavour. Sorry that the salad is half-eaten. Buns 😋😋😋

From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming staff made me feel right at home. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between modern and traditional, setting the tone for an unforgettable meal. The food? Incredible. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavour and beautifully presented, but the standout for me was the tuna belly tacos – melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Fresh, delicate, and expertly balanced – they alone are worth the visit. What also makes this place a winner is the convenient parking, which is a rare bonus in the area. It made the whole evening stress-free from start to finish. Whether you're a longtime fan of Japanese cuisine or just discovering it, Izakaya Fujiyama is a true standout. Delicious food, exceptional service, and thoughtful details – We’ll definitely be back!

First time trying this restaurant in Surry Hills. Set menu is not a bad deal there’s lots of dishes and good portions too we were so full by the end. Service was lovely too and very attentive to kids. Unfortunately it was really hot and we couldn’t feel the air conditioning at all so it was a bit uncomfortable with the doors open.
