Oh my god, this is actually the yummiest udon I’ve had in Australia! The soup was not so rich which was great, and the side dishes just complemented the udon so well! The restaurant is like a little, tucked-away spot on the street but when you walk in and sit down, it doesn’t even feel like you’re in Australia or Gold Coast anymore

Visiting from Brisbane, we stumbled upon this beautiful little restaurant - and were very proud of ourselves when we decided to dine in this unassuming little restaurant. This place is an absolute gem. The staff immediately made us feel welcome, offering impeccable, warm hospitality throughout our meal. The food? Phenomenal. The chefs are true masters of their craft, elevating Japanese cuisine to an art form. Every single dish was a revelation of flavour and fresh ingredients, utterly and truly delicious.

Authentic Japanese izakaya vibes with limited seating so booking is needed. Don’t miss the Pork Miso Katsu - perfectly crispy and tender.

Great food, but a small service hiccup I visited this Japanese restaurant in the Gold Coast recently and really enjoyed the food — the sashimi was fresh, and the carbonara udon was a standout dish! There was a small issue with the rooibos tea I ordered. The menu described it as a jug, but I was served just a cup. When I asked, the senior waitress explained that they had updated the presentation to a cup and showed me a photo, but the wording in the menu hadn’t been changed yet. It would’ve been nice to receive a quick apology or perhaps an option to clarify things before serving. On a positive note, Anzh was a lovely staff member — very friendly and helpful throughout our visit. Overall, the food was great, and I’d be happy to come back. Just a little more attention to service details would make the experience even better.

We had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at this restaurant! The standout was the perfectly cooked steak, served with a small charcoal grill on the side that added an authentic and flavorful touch. The smoky aroma and the sizzling heat from the grill elevated the dish to another level. Another highlight was the fresh beef tartare—beautifully presented and paired with crispy crackers and a rich dipping sauce. The texture and flavor were outstanding, a true delicacy. Every dish was prepared with incredible attention to detail, from the pasta with a creamy and flavorful sauce to the crispy fried side dishes that were perfectly seasoned. The balance of flavors and textures was impeccable. Overall, the ambiance of the restaurant, the quality of the food, and the friendly service made this meal unforgettable.
