The Okonomiyaki was well done with a sense of Japanese style. Deep-Fried Shishamo was very special. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was comfortable The price for lunch was reasonable
Stumbled across this gem recently whilst exploring the back streets of Gouger / Wright St Adelaide. It's the first time we had tried a Teppanyaki restaurant so we were a little confused but Taku, the waiter, was super helpful and skilled on the tools. We absolutely loved the food. It was well priced and a great experience. Only negative was the restaurant could do with some more ventilation. We did walk out smelling a little greasy but not worth losing a star over.
[Rusted Screw in the food โ Terrible experience] Experience at Kappo was absolutely disgusting. It actually started well, the staff were polite, and the grilled Japanese food tasted nice. But everything changed when we began our second main dish. I suddenly found a rusted screw in my mouth. It hurt my teeth, and I immediately asked to speak with the restaurant manager to understand how such a thing could end up in the food and to receive a sincere apology. When the manager arrived, I was completely shocked by his response. Instead of showing concern or professionalism, he looked annoyed and said, โI cancel this order, do you want more?โ as if it was no big deal. All I wanted was for someone responsible to acknowledge the mistake and apologize sincerely. But his aggressive attitude and total lack of care made the situation even worse. Considering this is a place where you typically spend $30โ$40 per person expecting quality food and service, the experience was unacceptable. I would never recommend this restaurant. The ownerโs attitude completely ruined what should have been a nice Friday night.
What a fun experience!! We were a group of 5 so got our own little semi private room. You take your shoes off and it's Japanese style seating around a hot plate. We ordered the banquet for 4 people and there was sufficient food for 5 - the serves are generous. They demonstrate what you need to do to cook the okinomiyaki and other dishes (but there are instructions too). Everything was delicious. A great night out. Very fun.
Sooooo, what a fantastic experience, not knowing what to expect, ordering from a QR code. You can order from multiple phones cool! We all ordered and sat back and on rolled the food! OMG how good was the food, interactive cooking and them cooking for you! Well worth the money and left full and happy! ๐ Definitely returning!
