I was taking an afternoon stroll when I passed by this ramen shop. Looking inside, I realized it wasn't run by Japanese people, but I was a bit hungry, so I went in and ordered a bowl of ramen anyway. I thought the taste would be very different from the Japanese style, because I often get modified versions in Australia. But the broth was delicious, the noodles were very chewy, and the meat was very flavorful. It was a pleasant surprise!
had the perfect bowl of shoyu ramen with thick slabs of (very tender) pork scotch + pork jowl!! i appreciated their housemade rye wheat noodles and i LOVED the texture. also ordered the curry koshikari bowl and was delightfully surprised by the chunky shiitakes and hock pieces. SO YUMMY FYI small menu but worth the wait, and service was quick. unlimited pour of water and tea that came in flasks. i loved how small and unpretentious the ramen bar is, and enjoyed a delicious lunch there!
Tried Ranita Ramen in Hobart after a friend recommended it, and it honestly lived up to the hype. I had the Spicy DanDan Ramen and the broth was incredible, rich and full of flavour, and the wallaby mince added this really unique umami kick I had never had before. The fresh in-house noodles were spot on too. Javier is clearly a talented chef, but also just a genuinely friendly guy. He was happy to chat and share recommendations, which made the whole experience even better. The place itself feels cozy and welcoming, the kind of spot you could easily come back to. Definitely worth a visit.
We want to try this ramen place so went for lunch on Tuesday at 1:30 pm and there were 5 people waiting in the queue before us so about 20 minutes wait on table. We had a donburi rice with tuna topping to share and a bowl of ramen each. My husband had a vegetarian ramen and I had a special ramen with pull pork shoulder and thick ramen noodle which I really like. The chilli oil available on the table was perfect and added extra flavour to the dish! The pepper berry lomonade was also tasty and refreshing. The place run by a couple (a chef and a front of house) and has about 10 - 12 seats. The menu is short so easy to order and we had tried pretty much the whole menu today.
This has to be the best ramen I had in Australia!! The set up inside the restaurant also pretty much like in Japan. This is the new ramen restaurant in Hobart. We flew from Sydney and straighted to this place for lunch. I had vegetarian tan tan ramen and my husband had special tonkatsu ramen with double egg as I canโt eat egg. Itโs worth it for queueing. I have to come back for this again ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ฉท
