A hidden gem in Adelaide. We tried the December Omakase special and it was by far one of, if not the best omakase in Adelaide. The entire seafood selection was beautifully arranged and the flavours were so rich and unique. This meal brought back memories of my time in Japan. The chef was lovely and very generous with the meal selection as well. Highly recommend!
The Sunday night 14 course Omakase was an amazing experience. A quiet intimate setting with each dish prepared in-front of you. The chefโs selection had a great variety of different fish and everything was fresh and delicious. We look forward to going back!
Disappointing โChefโs Selectionโ Experience. (3 starters, 2 mains, 1 dessert) We were really looking forward to the โchefโs selectionโ menu, but overall the experience fell short of our expectations. The starters were a mixed bag. The salted edamame was genuinely good, but the sashimi was a basic selection and lacking the richness of fresh seafood youโd normally hope for. The gyoza was just okay, nothing memorable. For the mains, the wagyu beef was the highlight, cooked well but still not particularly special or standout. The second main, a fried breaded eggplant, was a letdownโbland, oily, and lacking any real depth of flavour (supposedly with a taste of miso). Dessert was originally a donut, but we requested something lighter and got the yuzu sorbet instead. It was refreshing, has a citrusy finish and helped cleanse our palate. The drinks were fairly good (Japanese Plum Wine and Grapefruit Mocktail). Overall, the menu felt underwhelming for a chefโs selection. A few enjoyable elements, but not enough to justify the experience.
The food here is above my expectation. I am impressed with the exceptional taste, especially the barra wings winner-winner-winner! At first, the wait for the food, it being a low-key son's bd celebration, wasn't the best experience on a hot day. Boy, were we impressed with the mains. Personally, the best, being the burnt Barra wings, the complexity of this dish really resonated well with my liking for fish. I would still order this when I visit again, it's that delicious ๐
We shared a number of entree dishes and 2 flights of sake. The dishes were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Compliments to the Chef ๐คฉ The front, undercover courtyard would be lovely dining on a summer day. Look forward to trying some mains next time.
